Michael Boyd: Sketch - Piano Violin Viola Cello (2000)

On 18 April 2000, the painter, pianist and composer, Michael Boyd, attended a performance of Morton Feldman's last work, "Piano Violin Viola Cello", performed by Ensemble 21 at the Miller Theater in New York City. The following day he sketched this visual impression, or representation, of the piece, which succinctly encapsulates its essential features.
