[Morton Feldman Page] [Feldman: Homages] |
63 Whispers in Memoriam Morton Feldman was written originally for the Australian Felix Ensemble, Felix Werder, director, for a tour of Europe they were doing. Later it was performed a couple of other times, by other groups, including a performance at the Adelaide Arts Festival. It's a series of 63 very soft, sustained chords, which was written using a random pitch and instrument selection routine. It was written as a memorial to Morton Feldman, who influenced me greatly, both in his choice of sound types and durations, and also in his uncompromising sticking to his own kind of vision.Warren Burt
